Tracking Your Sex Life…Online

Several months ago, “Anon Bestman” launched a Twitter account, newlywedsontjob. “I was recently asked to be best man to my best mate in the world,” Anon tweeted. “The one condition was my mate made me swear, NO jokes before the wedding.”

Yet Anon, wildly dedicated to the art of the prank, found a loophole. The honeymoon, technically after the wedding, would be the perfect setting to prank his mate. And prank he did. Anon explained through Twitter, “The newlywed’s [sic] marital bed now has a pressure-sensitive pad underneath which now tweets every time they get on the job…You know when it starts, when it ends, the force, a rating on the frenzy index and a judge’s comment. It’s all broadcast live to Twitter.”

Thanks to Anon, the world knew exactly when (and at what level of intensity) his friends were makin’ whoopee. As you might imagine, Anon’s scheme spread virally throughout the Interwebs, as all cleverly executed pranks should.

Enter Bedpost, a new and much more interesting way to track your sex life.

You can track just about anything on the web these days – from finances and food, to fitness and sleep - so why not sex?

Bedpost is not a prank. It’s an online application, now in private Beta, that helps consumers gain insight into their respective sex lives. The information fields don’t appear too complex – date, length of time, overall rating and descriptive tags are featured on the home page. I imagine that as Bedpost grows and gains more data, they’ll be able to publish benchmarks and wax philosophical on the sexual trends of its users.

If you worry about privacy – don’t. Bedpost understands that your sex life is an incredibly personal data-set. They promise not to view your records or distribute them to a third-party. In fact, if you don’t like the Bedpost experience, you can permanently delete all of your information from their servers. If only Facebook offered the same option…

Anon Bestman would be proud. Bedpost might really have something here. What are your thoughts?
