JetScooter: Time to Fly?

Not yet. But if this concept vehicle is any indication of what’s to come, I’m willing to wait a little longer.

Designed by deviantArt user peanuts23, the JetScooter isn’t likely to be zooming around in a city near you – at least not anytime soon. We’re just hoping this bad boy becomes reality in our lifetime. Wishful thinking? Possibly… but a man can dream can’t he?

Actually, the idea isn’t too far-fetched. In fact, some experts agree that the technology required to practically engineer a flying-car, will become available in the next five years.

Still, other complications remain. How much would they cost? Would you need a pilot’s license to fly one? Who’s to blame in an accident? Would we even be driving/flying them, or would we be guided by ground-based control systems? How fuel-efficient would flying-scooters be? I have a feeling these don’t fit into the definition of “living green.”

Maybe more importantly, would they be capable of going “back to the future”?

Either way, throw in a matching helmet – along with Nashlly Estefania riding on the back – and we’ll be on our way!

People around Los Angeles already cannot drive, it would be interesting to see if they are any better in the air. Scary thought. Although, the Jetsons did promise to have flying cars and higher than life condominiums.
